To setup lkb on Patas you need to copy and untar the into your home directory. You can do this with the following commands:

cp /nopt/delphin.tar ~

tar xvf ~/delphin.tar

Once that is complete you will need to add paths to your .bashrc you can push the proper paths into your bashrc file with the ofllowing shell comands:

echo 'export DELPHINHOME=~/delphin' >> ~/.bashrc

echo 'export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=$DELPHINHOME/lkb_fos/lib/linux.x86.64:$LD_LIBRARY_PATH' >> ~/.bashrc

Please note that in these examples the single quotes ' ' are important, as they surpress variable expansion, where double quotes " " will not.

finally you must edit your ~/.emacs file to include:

(let ((root (or (getenv "DELPHINHOME") "~/delphin")))
(load (format "%s/lkb_fos/emacs/dot.emacs" root) nil t t))

Once all of this is done please log out and log back in to patas to ensure all variables are refreshed.

when logging into patas please ensure xforwarding is properly enabled. Depending on system and ssh version this may be a "-x" or "-X" or "-y" or "-Y" flag. Most commonly it is "-X", but at least on some macs, -Y seems to work best.

ie "ssh -X username@patas.ling.washington.edu"
